Buying Guide: Key Purchase Considerations
- Size compatibility: Confirm the exact finished size and opening dimensions to ensure your poster or print fits with or without a mat.
- Material and durability: MDF and PVC frames are budget-friendly; solid wood and BonanzaWood options offer longevity and a premium feel, especially in high-traffic areas.
- Protection and clarity: Plexiglass or acrylic fronts protect artwork while maintaining color accuracy. Backing and mounting hardware influence ease of use and stability.
- Finish and style: Black frames pair with most decors; barnwood and gray washes provide rustic or contemporary vibes. Consider wall color and room design when choosing finishes.
- Mounting options: Check for hardware included (hanging wire, D-rings, or sawtooth hangers) and whether the frame supports vertical or horizontal display.
- Maintenance: Lighter frames may show dust and fingerprints more readily; choose protective coatings or wipe-clean surfaces if framing frequently handled pieces.
- Cost vs. value: Eco-friendly materials can offer a better long-term value, especially for gallery walls or classrooms where frames are exchanged frequently.
- Quantity needs: For large walls, multi-pack options can create a cohesive look and reduce ordering time.
